Our history, our journey, Our Story

1986 - The Prelude of a Sweet Beginning:

The story of His Majesty Coach begins uniquely, intertwined with a love for music, a fascination with driving motorcoaches, and an unwavering faith in God. In 1986, our founder, Tommy Brown, then a band member of The Spurrlows, wagered with the band’s bus driver – if he could eat ten Snickers bars in less than an hour, he could drive the bus. Falling just short at nine bars, Tommy still impressed the driver enough to be granted a turn behind the wheel. This singular event ignited Tommy’s interest in buses and laid the groundwork for His Majesty Coach.

1987 - 1992 - From Musician to Bus Driver:

In 1987, driven by his newfound fascination, Tommy obtained his chauffeur license and began a career as a professional bus driver. Over the next five years, he worked for various famous musicians, including a significant stint with the renowned Christian rock band, Mylon and Broken Heart. This period not only deepened Tommy’s fascination with motorcoaches but also provided the savings necessary to realize his entrepreneurial dream.

1993 - The Birth of His Majesty Coach:

His Majesty Coach was officially established in 1993, with Tommy’s purchase of his first charter tour bus. The name ‘His Majesty’ is a testament to Tommy’s deep faith in God and his gratitude for His guidance. Initially, the company focused on transporting large groups around Atlanta and the South Eastern United States with its 57-passenger charter buses.

2003 - Expansion into Entertainment:

In 2003, His Majesty Coach expanded its services, adding entertainer coaches, band buses, and sleeper coaches to the fleet. This new venture allowed the company to provide transport for famous celebrities and rock stars such as Elton John, The Beach Boys, Mötley Crüe, and Shania Twain. Despite the economic ups and downs of the following years, His Majesty Coach stood strong.

2016 - A New Partnership:

A significant moment in our history was in late 2016 when Tommy married Anissa Brown. Anissa became an instrumental part of the His Majesty Coach team. She took over managing business development and booking for the 56 passenger tour bus division, becoming a crucial part of keeping His Majesty Coach operating smoothly.

2020 - 2022 Resilience and Renewed Focus:

The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted the entertainment touring industry, with over half of the independently owned charter tour bus companies not surviving these devastating years. His Majesty Coach, however, was among the fortunate few to weather the storm. Reflecting on the situation, in 2022, the company decided to close its entertainer coach division and refocus on its core service – luxury group transportation with its fleet of 56-passenger buses.
